Our History
The Rhode Island Masonic Youth Foundation was established to create a place where Rhode Island Masons, their families, and affiliated youth organizations could gather in a safe and welcoming environment centered on recreation, fellowship, and service. Founded in 1962, the Foundation was created with a long-term vision: to preserve and operate a dedicated property where youth and families could enjoy affordable outdoor recreation while strengthening community ties and supporting the values of Freemasonry...

Welcome to the out-of-doors and a piece of “Nature’s Beauty”. The Masonic Youth Foundation Inc. Youth Center at Buttonwoods is a 70-acre site located on the waters of Narragansett Bay. It is ideal for picnics, outings, and get-togethers. The Center is available during the summer months to all Masonic Groups, responsible community groups, Masonic Families, civic organizations, etc.
The park has been in operation since 1955. It is owned by the RI Grand Lodge of Masons and the RI Shriners. The RI Masonic Youth Foundation Inc. is the managing body of the center, responsible for Youth Programming, the upkeep and usage of the facility.
